Voyagers holds separate monthly social events for teens and tweens.
In addition, homeschoolers of any age can drop in to meet up with friends, play some games, or take part in an activity at Resource Center Drop-Ins. Please check our calendar for details.
Teen Dances are chaperoned drop-off events, open to the homeschooling public and targeted for participants ages 13-19.
We have music and dancing and talking and gaming. Dancing takes place in our main room. Musical instruments, board games, MAGIC cards, and other activities go on in other rooms, so teens who don't like to dance have plenty to do.
Our regular monthly dances are drop-in events; no registration is necessary. Ticket prices are $5 for Voyagers members, $8 for non-Voyagers members, and pizza is $1.50 a slice. Snacks and soda are included in the ticket price.
Our Teen Semi-Formal (held annually in the winter) and Teen Formal (held annually in the late spring) are themed events where we provide more elaborate food and decorations. Pricing and registration/RSVP information, as well as the theme for the event, will be available prior to each event. Recent themes have included Comic Book Characters, Masquerade Party, and Alice in Wonderland.
Our Teen Dances are organized by our Teen Event Committee. These are teen-driven, parent-supported events. Teens do much of the work, from setup and cleanup to DJing and running the lights. However, we do need help from parents to chaperone these events.
Tween Dances and Game Nights
Tween Dances/Game Nights are smaller, though not necessarily quieter, events geared toward kids aged 10 - 13. These are not drop-off events; a responsible adult is asked to remain on site during the event. (Yes, you can bring your child’s friends along but we do ask that you leave siblings younger than 10 at home.)
Tween Dances are open to the homeschooling public. Light snacks and drinks are provided. The fee is $5 for one child and $10 for more than one child. (Parents are free.)
