A fun introductory class for tweens and teens who love science and enjoy a challenge.
This program will encourage a love for science and experimentation, will present a basic overview of the laws of physics, and will introduce students to the questions that are being answered with current research. Participants will be asked to complete readings in a recommended textbook at either the high school or middle school level prior to each session. Each session will include a short lecture summarizing the reading material, but will largely focus on hands-on lab activities involving that topic. The curricula will teach Newton’s laws, energy, fluid dynamics, electricity and magnetism, relativity and quantum physics. This will be a good bridge to prepare students to take an introductory college or community college course, or AP physics.
