Filmmaking course for students ages 10 to 14, run by the Filmmakers Collaborative (FC). The 8-week program is called FC Academy and its mission is to use the art of filmmaking to teach media literacy skills to middle school students.
The FC will be bringing all the editing and camera equipment with them for the class to use. The students will work together to come up with a topic for their film (or films, depending upon the number of students in the class) and then work together to complete the film. All films made will be eligible to be screened at the Boston International Kids Film Festival in November 2018 at the Somerville Theater in Davis Square.
Students must be able to take direction from instructors and work collaboratively with other classmates.
More information about the FIlmmakers Collaborative is available on their website at http://filmmakerscollab.org.
